Zouhair Yahyaoui was imprisoned for 18 months in 2002 for ‘spreading false news’ (publishing articles criticising the government’s actions, or suggesting that there is corruption at the top) – he had published articles satirising the government on his website, TunisZine.

In the 19th century, Italianate was all the rage, as evident in grand mansions such as Tunis’ Dar Ben Abdullah (p76).
